The Study Australia Showcase, organized by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (an Australian Government agency) in Delhi this past Tuesday, attracted a substantial turnout of students, parents, and education leaders.
This roadshow served as a valuable platform, facilitating direct interactions between students, parents, and representatives from 15 prominent Australian universities. Additionally, it offered students the unique opportunity to gain insights from representatives of Australian states and territories, the Australian Department of Home Affairs, and the Australian Department of Education.
Throughout the day-long event, attendees had the chance to explore Australia’s excellence in education and access online tools to discover the most suitable Australian study options. The showcase also shed light on Australian Government initiatives geared toward shaping the global careers of Indian students.
Speaking about these initiatives, Dr. Monica Kennedy, Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), a part of the Australian Government, emphasized, “We collaborate extensively with Indian students to ensure that they are making optimal choices when considering studying in Australia. Through our Study Australia showcase, we deliver the latest, reliable, and pertinent information to students, parents, educational counsellors, and agents. The active engagement of all stakeholders contributed significantly to the triumph of the event, and we take pleasure in addressing their inquiries. An impressive number of students have expressed their eagerness to select Australia as their preferred location for advanced education, and we are excitedly looking forward to accommodating them all.”
The showcase also delivered comprehensive information on the student visa application process, and Australian government representatives shared detailed insights about scholarships and the student life experience in Australia.
Over the years, an increasing number of Indian students have been opting to pursue their education in Australia, drawn by its world-class education, post-study work opportunities, and high quality of living. As of June 2023, over 98,000 Indian students are enrolled in Australian educational institutions.
Australia consistently earns recognition in global rankings for its research excellence, quality of life, student satisfaction, and employment outcomes. The recently released QS World University Rankings 2024 further underscore this reputation, with three Australian universities ranking in the global top 20 and nine in the top 100. Remarkably, 95% of Australian universities have achieved global rankings.
