The search giant Google is commemorating its 25th birthday today with a special doodle. Google Inc. officially came into existence on September 4, but for over a decade, the company has observed its birthday on September 27. On this occasion, the company took a nostalgic journey and presented various doodles. Today’s Google Doodle includes a GIF that transforms ‘Google’ into ‘G25gle‘. The tech company stated that it is using this day as an opportunity to reflect on its history while keeping an eye on the future.

In its blog post, Google expressed, “Today’s Doodle celebrates Google’s 25th year. And while here at Google we’re oriented towards the future, birthdays can also be a time to reflect. Let’s take a walk down memory lane to learn how we were born 25 years ago.”

In the late 1990s, fate or chance brought together doctoral students Sergey Brin and Larry Page within Stanford University’s computer science program. They quickly discovered a shared vision: enhancing the accessibility of the World Wide Web. Working diligently from their dorm rooms, they crafted a prototype for an improved search engine. As substantial progress was made, they relocated their operation to Google’s inaugural office, a rented garage. On September 27, 1998, Google Inc. was officially established.

Since that pivotal year, many changes have occurred, including the evolution of Google’s logo, as seen in today’s Doodle. Nonetheless, the company’s mission has remained unwavering: to organize global information and ensure its universal accessibility and usefulness. Google is now used by billions worldwide for search, connectivity, work, entertainment, and more.

Gratitude is extended to all who have evolved with Google over the past 25 years, with anticipation for the journey that lies ahead. Sundar Pichai, the current CEO of Google, penned a message last month commemorating the company’s anniversary. In his message, he looked back on the company’s history, its transformative role in technology, and its future direction. Mr. Pichai expressed gratitude to users, employees, and partners who have played a part in Google’s success.

In his message, Mr. Pichai also emphasized the importance of innovation and adaptability, recognizing that what was once considered groundbreaking technology has swiftly become commonplace as boundaries continue to be pushed.
